Importance in music

What makes a musical group important? It’s more than their pieces, it’s what moves you. Music as a force is more important than music as art. The origins of music are fueled by group experience. The way you effect the group is the most important part, as far as influence goes. Naturally, the attempt of using music or art as a communal force can remove the creator from the experience of a piece with individual meaning. As such, any artist must choose between going full force in one way or another, or finding some sort of true balance.
The importance of any piece of art can be attributed to either its effect on a group or the effect on the individual. Since art can be created for individual reasons, such as self-expression, emotional release or a way to pass the time, the importance of any piece can be variable in nature. So the importance of music must be evaluated from either an individual, collectivist or balanced point of view.
Music as a force can naturally gain more importance than music as an art. This isn’t true in all occasions, but the potential of music as force offers more power than music as art. Musicality, as we know it is unique to humans. It is a reflection of our ability to think about our own minds. Music as a force to expand our consciousness and change us is a valuable tool.
The origins of music are widely debated. Many theories suggest that musicality evolved as a means to attract a mate, prepare for war or induce other states of communal altered consciousness. While individualistic musicality may induce positive changes in the creator, the effect of a communally based musicality may produce a greater effect when all variables are considered.
Fortunately, there is a simple solution to this issue, and it is the solution to many other issues.
It is twofold. First, simplify. Simplicity in any sense is a prudent application to either approach. Secondly, it is about balance, like many things in our life. The individualistic side of art appeals to people because of their relation to the given piece. The collectivist side moves them towards change and expanded consciousness.

The miracle of music is that it reflects our emotions- or rather, our perception of emotions. It is this perception of our own thinking that allows us to feel from music. It is built into our genetics that we shall allow music to change us and direct our behavior. Embrace the adaptation- it might be one of our most unique.
